GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES

For more all-inclusive information on areas of Competition and Judging Criteria, Click Here!  Many more of your questions can be answered form the information on that page and also from the Gasparilla Entry Form.

All Titleholders are encouraged to attend functions as "Royalty" from time to time, as schedules permit.  We have numerous activities to take part in.  All Titleholders are free to join us whenever possible!  Titleholders are expected to return the following year and help coronate new Titleholders.  Additionally, Contestants who do not win may be asked to appear as Ambassadors.

In the Kids' Pageant Portion, "Littler" Contestants go onstage and we "crown" them first, so that they can leave the event after group photos.

A chaperone for Contestants 35 months and under must remain with child at all times. including onstage.  Our concern here is for your child's safety while they're having fun!

Any Contestant in any Adult or Kids' Pageant is required for our group photos.  *We submit group photos to television, press and major magazines, so everyone needs to be included!

*You can get Sponsorships to help with Entry Fees and win great extra prizes!  Ask us how!  You can also win great prizes by getting Sponsorships!

What Should I Wear?

Division Title FormalWear:

Formal Pageant attire should be a dressy gown, dress, suit or Sunday Best.   Dress can be a cocktail dress, formal or Pageant gown.  Any length.

SuperModel:

SuperModel attire should be a fashion outfit of your choice.  Music for SuperModel will be high-energy and modeling will be done onstage in Runway Modeling style.  (Think "Top Model")  *Please Note: No Swimsuits or PirateWear in this Optional Category!

Swimsuit/Aerobic Wear:

Swimsuit should be tasteful.  A one or two piece is fine.  Hand props are great and it's acceptable to use cover-up.

PirateWear:

PirateWear should be only a Pirate-Themed outfit.  This is the Gasparilla Pageant!  Go Big!

We will be providing music for this event.  We don't have the ability to allow custom music for the PirateWear Competition.

In General:

Props okay, provided we can get them off the stage quickly.

No custom music for SuperModel or PirateWear in Older Groups, (14-Up).  Custom music is allowed for SuperModel for Kids.

More Particulars

Talent:

Talent routines can be Dancing, Singing or Other.  Talent attire can be whatever you would like to perform in.  You may sign up to enter more than one Talent routine.  You are allowed to perform more than one of the same TYPE of Talent, if desired.  There is a time limit of two minutes or less.  You must supply your own music.  (Bring a back up CD.)  Only tasteful Talent routines are acceptable, with no vulgar language in music.

Photogenic:

Please submit your Photo or Photos at Registration to be judged for this Optional Category.  Photos can be head shot or full body.  They can be color or black and white.  Please include Contestant's name clearly on the back of each Photo submitted.  Judging will be on personality, style, individuality in Photo.  (Photos do not have to be professional quality.)

Modeling Portfolio:

The Modeling Portfolio is am album with a collection of Photos.  (All should be recent, within the past 6 months.)  Portfolio should include a variety of photo types - headshots, full body, indoors, outdoors, natural, glitz, etc. and feature different outfits.

Modeling Photo Composite Or Comp Card:

Modeling Composite Should Be: 3-5 Photos on one card using different looks - headshots, full body, inside, outside with your name on the front.  (Use your imagination!)

Modeling Comp Card should adhere to the industry standard and must be current.  A Comp Card is a Model's business card!

Other Standard Optional Categories:

Best Hair, Best Smile, Best Eyes, Best Personality and Best Dressed  and any other similar Optional Categories will be judged while Contestant is on stage in FormalWear.  Year to year, we sometimes change the Optional categories.  To see which ones are being offered for 2012, please see the Entry Forms.

Dressing rooms will be available.  We will have a place for you to keep your Pageant attire during your participation.  *Please note:  Pageant staff is not responsible for the safety of your belongings.

*We advise arriving EXACTLY 1 hour before your Pageant start time to check in, pick up your Contestant Number, etc.  Arrive in Pageant attire, (in the first outfit you're scheduled to go onstage in) “basically ready”, so that you don’t have to compete too much for time and space to get ready with the other Contestants.

About a week before the event, more information will be posted here AND sent to you via email about exact itinerary and times, etc.  Please check back here for more information!

Should I Go “Natural” Or “Glitz”?

This question pertains mostly to younger Contestants.  The answer is the same as above – Anything goes!  Wear what you like!  The Judges we have assembled come from a variety of Pageant and other backgrounds.  They know that some contestants will be very “glitzy” and some will be “natural”, and that many will be first-timers.  They will judge each Contestant accordingly - each on their own merit, based on how that Contestant appears/how they carry themselves.  There is no one certain “look” the Judges are looking for.  *This is your time to shine and to look how you want to look!

PLEASE NOTE:  For children, the Sunday Pageant is not allowing fake teeth or obvious fake hair.  Choose Saturday's event if you're really glitzy!

SATURDAY, FEB. 18TH - We also now have a High Glitz division, too!  Call and ask if you would like more info!

Photogenic Pictures

Pictures  submitted for Photogenic, Portfolio and Composite competitions will be available to be picked up after the Pageant ends.

We have also created a page just for the Kids' Pageant...The page has a little additional info for the younger Pirates!  Click Here!

Gasparilla Pageant 2010 once again highlighted the fabulous "Celebrity Style Guy", Mick Ferrari as Master and Mistress of Ceremonies!  The 2-day event featured dance performances as entertainment by Kim Hall Dance and the Chic-Fil-A Cow joining the Calendar Contest!  Hey...It's a free country! Representatives from modeling agencies and the entertainment industry were on hand as judges and scouts!

Gasparilla Pageant 2011 was headlined again by our loveable Mick Ferrari!
